Guest Registration opens on December 1, the year before the event in February.

Night To Shine is designed for guests ages 14 and up who have special needs. Friendship Church has extended invitations to a number of groups, organizations, and individuals in our area who have special needs or serve those with special needs. If you would like to invite someone to attend or volunteer at Night To Shine, share this webpage and encourage them to apply!

 Guests: 14 years and older and there is no upper age limit. 

Volunteers: must also be 14 or older, and require parent or guardian permission for volunteers aged 14-18

While Night To Shine is a free event, guest and volunteer registration is required to attend. Guest Registration for the 2026 Night To Shine will open on December 1. Volunteer registration is open. Click the interest list button to receive a reminder when registration opens. 

There are many volunteer opportunities to serve at Night To Shine! Volunteer roles include serving in our karaoke room,hair and make-up glam room,  parking attendants, and of course...as a guest buddy. We need many buddies to give our guests the royal treatment and make Night To Shine a night that our prom kings and queens will never forget! We’ll provide all the training and support you need to serve with confidence at Night To Shine.

We encourage our honored guests to dress up in your favorite formal wear (dress, gown, suit or tux) or whatever makes you feel handsome or beautiful!

For the volunteers, wear white shirt & black pants. 

Buddies, please wear formal attire.

A buddy is a volunteer who will be with a guest helping them party the night away. Responsibilities include accompanying and assisting assigned guest throughout the evening, providing companionship and any assistance they may need during the event, sitting with their guest during dinner and engaging with them in conversation.

If you have a family member or friend who wants to come and be your buddy for the night please have them sign up as a volunteer. When they sign up as a volunteer, they need to add in the comment section that they want to specifically be a buddy with you. Please make sure they list your first and last name so we can correctly place you together.

During Night to Shine, we want to honor the incredible parents, family members, and caretakers for their lifetime commitment to caring for their loved ones with special needs. The respite room (located in an adjacent building) will provide the opportunity to rest and enjoy a night off, knowing that their loved one is having an amazing time in a safe, friendly, and Christ-centered environment, with a personally assigned buddy. Comfortable seating, food, beverages, and entertainment will be provided.
